The Amish Ordnung developed when the Amish first began. The bishop of each church has to enforce the rules. The bishop is the leader of his church, but the Ordnung is the highest authority for every Amish person. Most of the Ordnung rules do not have any reason, and members of the Amish church are not allowed to question. A few of the Ordnung rules are misinterpreted from the Bible to make it fit into their religion. And they are told "this is how God wants you to live." The Ordnung is their God
