A little glimpse into the past week at the Northmen Guild's carpentry course. The timber framing group (8 students) started scribing a spire for the timber frame house that they're building. We're having a very skilled guest tutor from Belgium, master timber framer Willem Vancambelke, and he gave us the inspiration to do the spire which is a traditional part of Belgian cathedrals and other buildings. Willem's daily job is restoring these cathedrals using only traditional methods and materials. L
