UPMC Mercy’s main and ambulatory services entrances are closed on Saturdays and Sundays. To access the hospital on a Saturday or Sunday, please use the bridge from the UPMC Mercy parking garage on Locust Street.

The Mercy Hospital of Pittsburgh — the first hospital in Pittsburgh and the first Mercy Hospital in the world — was established in 1847 by the Sisters of Mercy.
Mercy Hospital of Pittsburgh merged with UPMC to become UPMC Mercy on Jan. 1, 2008. The hospital remains Pittsburgh’s only Catholic hospital with specialized services, including the neurosciences, Level I trauma and burn services, orthopaedics, and physical medicine and rehabilitation.
UPMC Mercy provides a superior level of care to patients with state-of-the-art imaging equipment and technology. Located on Locust Street, this imaging location serves the community of Pittsburgh and surrounding areas.
